Tonight he said “Kids music doesn’t make sense, it’s absurd.”  Later he said, “will you put your arm around me? Something inside me is running away.”

Today I made good on a promise to Hadley.  Andy and Drew went skiing for the day.  Phoebe shocked me by reading a complicated road sign.  We came home and she read me a level one book with ease.   She is pretty proud of her new found ability.

I ordered glasses today.  I took an afternoon nap with the kids and then we did logic puzzles.  I can only imagine how exciting I will be in my seventies.

Yesterday at the race Phoebe took home a 1st place in GS and a 4th place in slalom.  We had friends coming up to us asking what happened?  Was the time wrong?  Did she fall?  Did she miss a gate and hike back up… ??  Nope.  We didn’t think much of it.  She was just slower than usual.  It was fine, she was completely happy with the results, as were we.

Today as the girls were taking a bath together I overheard from afar Phoebe say to Hadley, “I’m going to tell  you a secret, don’t tell.  Natalie really wanted to win in slalom, so I skied slow, she was so happy.”

My heart just about burst.

Our team took home the Nordica cup.  Six year old ski racing girls are adorable.  I am glad to be home and so glad to have taken a little ski trip with my family.

When I changed my blog address and format I had this unknown vision.  I knew I wanted change but I did not know how or why.  So I changed it.  And, with a little patience I have come to realize the how and why.  Sometimes blogging is draining for me.  It can be just one more thing I feel I need to do, one more thing that others ask of me, one more thing to check off of my list.  I dont want it to be that way.  I want to do this for me and for our family and for the sake of creativity and memory.  I do not want it to drain me.  I want it to be something I look forward to at the end of the day.  I want it to hold simplicity and rhythm, just like I have cultivated, for the most part, in the rest of the day.  So I am going to post a little moment now and then of something, a picture, a thought, a memory.  A friend told me of this site and it is just what I needed to see.. I am going to try this for a bit and see if it does in fact change my perspective on blogging.
