My girls
Today was a Phoebe day. I just have to say she is quite the sweet little girl. Drew spent most of the day listening to his new Jack and Annie stories. He even opted out of painting this afternoon– a first! We have a mellow week planned and it is so nice. It gives the kids some down time with their new toys and it gives me one more week to plan our winter stories and activities.

And here is a pretty amazing picture of my crazy one

She is doing handstands all the time. She is even able to walk on her hands a few steps. Unbelievable.
And here is something else quite unbelievable — our Haddie in a high chair!

Time to start dropping all the toys
I have nothing to do
Oh — that is something I have not said in sooooo long. The house is full of groceries, the laundry is all done and folded, Christmas gifts are opened and put away and even the tree is down and replaced with all our ski stuff…

The tree was dropping needles like no other tree I have ever known. And I don’t so much mind the needles everywhere– it is quite festive really– but these needles were sharp! And it was really like having a million sewing needles all over the house — someone was always stepping on one and shouting out. So we moved the tree out to the deck and now we can still enjoy it, yet without the bloodshed.

This morning Phoebe helped me get Haddie dressed and ready for the day. She did her diaper — and she said to me — “Now when you die and I am more grown up I can take care of Hadley, I can do her diapers.”

So I figured she should also know how to dress her, for when I am dead—

She tried and tried … and tried to put Haddie’s sock on all the while politely asking her to hold still. Then she said in such a serious way– “maybe, mama– don’t die until next year” (with big hand expressions) and then she simply walked away. O my, that was so funny.
Something totally unrelated… Mothering magazine has a decluttering new years challenge and I think it is right up my alley. 5 things a day– sold, donated, recycled– until you reach 100 items. That will feel good. And if in case we will be moving that will be 100 things less to move. More to come on this topic.
