Working Mama

While Andy is away I have been busy to say the least. We had to let our employees go in the fall to hopefully turn a profit this year. And since Andy is gone it leaves me to do the shipping. Thankfully orders have been plentiful in these last few days– but I am a little conflicted because it does mean some pretty hard labor for me!

Drew and Phoebe have enjoyed coming with me. They love to climb around on the boxes and even to bring me some of the smaller packages. I have timed it pretty well so that Hadley naps in my ergo (and I bounce on an excercise ball while I type out the fed ex labels) then I throw her on my back while I round up all of the packages. I just really hope I have not messed up any orders– it is a little distracting with all the bouncing (and the big kids have been bringing super balls– so I have to dodge them on occasion) and settle a squabble or two over said super balls.

I will be thankful when Andy gets home and he can take it over. I have not remembered to take any pictures — hopefully tomorrow I will. It also seems like there may be fewer orders to process (not so many in the last few hours) but I guess I never know what the night holds. Now I am trying to stay awake until 8 — then I am putting myself to bed. Tired body!
